Qualifications:
Rachael Buxton of interiors etc. limited studied interior design
at the Regent Academy of Fine Arts in London and graduated
with distinction. Rachael also holds a London City and
Guilds Certificate of Interior Design. Rachael has 14 years
experience as a professional interior designer, twelve years of
which running her own interior design business.
Prior to her work as an interior designer, Rachael worked within
the pharmaceutical industry, utilising her Bachelor Of Science
Degree (Zoology major from the University of Canterbury) and her
Post Graduate Diploma in Commerce (Marketing) from Lincoln
University.
Specialist Areas:
Rachael is a furnishing specialist and is known for her ability
with colour, knowledge of fabrics, furniture, art, accessories,
lighting and artistic interpretation. Rachael works at ease
with varying styles. Rachael provides artistic direction and
works with kitchen and bathroom designers.
Excellent communication between client, designer and trades
people are essential tools for the smooth management of any design
installation. Rachael has excellent communication skills.
Rachael is passionate about her career. She takes great
pride in creating beautiful and unique environments for her
clients.
Interior Design Experience:
Rachael's career as an interior designer has seen her work on an
extensive variety of projects, including super yachts, lodges,
multi unit residential developments all over New Zealand, retail
fit outs and private homes. Rachael has appeared on New
Zealand Television and her work has been published in international
interior design magazines.
Business Experience:
In December 2007, Rachael and her husband purchased the Karaka
Church and Hall. The renovation of the church and hall and
development of the grounds took nine months. In September
2008, the interiors etc. retail store, interior design studio and
offices were officially opened. In addition to her interior
design work, Rachael also operates a very successful import and
distribution company, I'm Gorgeous Limited, which concentrates on
the importation of women's fashion accessories and supply to retail
stores all over New Zealand.
Personal:
On a more personal level Rachael and her husband have a
delightful little girl, Olivia, born April 2008.
Rachael is genuinely passionate about her work and loves nothing
more than to work with clients who relish the same joy for creating
beautiful interiors.
